Research Short Courses
One-on-one tutoring focuses on educating the student about general research principles, using a bottom-up approach, to ensure concepts are grounded in understanding from the start of the research process. This is accompanied with lessons focusing on the content and purpose of the sections for research proposals and/or research reports at an Honours level. Additional lessons are focused on the basics of APA 7th editions referencing, as well as how to effectively review and store resources.
This is an all encompassing set of classes that allows you to learn about what the purpose of research is, the functions of the documents and headings, as well as the content of the proposals and reports.
Our goal is focused on creating informed students that have a strong grasp on research concepts to excel during their honors academic year and apply this knowledge into future postgraduate degrees.
Proof Reading
Proofing consists of a check for superficial errors such as misspelled words, missing punctuation, extra paragraph breaks, incorrect formatting and any other common errors that might have been missed in a full copy edit of your research document. A proofread does not include any text improvements – it is simply a process to catch the last little errors before publishing.
This is combined with copy editing.
Copy editing involves looking at things like writing style, sentence flow, word repetition and overall structure. This involves some rephrase suggestions of complex sentences to improve readability or clarity of an argument.
This is free from AI usage with evidence of edits.

About Me
My name is Josie Burnett
I received my BaPsych at NMU in 2019, as well as my Honours in Couselling Psych at UNISA with 86% overall and over 90% for both research modules - Research Report and Research Proposal.
I have been tutoring full-time since 2023, focusing on research principles.
Currently, I am working towards pursuing degrees in Education to further my passion for teaching.
I also have a TEFL qualification with volunteer teaching experience.
I am passionate about taking concepts that may initially seem complicated and overwhelming, and breaking them down into easy to understand parts. I love teaching students from diverse backgrounds and cater our session to suit your needs.
